==Overview:==
A novel mech in both design and purpose, the Solar Flare lives and dies
largely by one single element: its speed.

Fast even for a light mech, the Solar Flare has one single purpose: leap ahead
of allied units for the purpose of disrupting enemy movements and encampments
before falling back. To this end, the weapons load was selected based on
delivering the greatest payload in the least amount of time. Eight RL 10s were
chosen as the main armament, as their light weight meant that they could be
packed onto the mech without consuming very much weight (indeed, the mech is
little more than engines and jump jets). Backing them up are a pair of medium
lasers and a single small laser, selected both for their reliability in battle
and their ability to provide reasonable firepower for the weight class; not
only can they be contributed to the volley, they can also help the mech defend
itself once it goes to retreat. 

Armor is good for a mech of its size and speed, with each location save for
the head being able to take a single PPC blast. While the mech's speed and its
ECM gear are supposed to be its primary defenses, this extra-thick armor keeps
the mech protected just in case it cannot withdraw fast enough.
