Up until now, We have posted reviews about the newer movies. Let us change the pace a bit. And review an older one. A much older one. 1969 to exact.

PAINT YOUR WAGON, Starring Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood. I just got through watching this movie (For the 20th time, And it just gets funniner everytime)and it is really a great movie. The story flows very smoothly. The characters are not only beleaveable, but lovable. and interact so well with each other. The muscial score is among the classics (Wandering star, Maria, and Where am I Going. to mention a few)

And Yes, This is a musical. Marvin and Eastwood do sing. But lucky not that often. In fact, As musicals go. This one is not bogged down with the score. Quite the oppsite. The score adds to the movie.

But the real charm of the movie is the humor. The off the wall, Drunk, Why the hell not, Humor. But some of it is so quick. You may have watch it twice to get it all. And at almost 5 hours, That is no small feat.

That is right. A 5 hour video or DVD(and you thought Lord Of the Rings was long)But you are so caught in the movie. You do not notice the time.

This movie may not appeal to the younger crowd. But give it a shot anyway. How often can you say "I heard Clint Eastwood sing"

Word of warning though. This movie is PG. and was made in a time when drunken humor was acceptable. And Marvin's character is more drunk than sober. And that may offend some people.

But I can tell. I first saw this movie back in 1970. And have watched it through the years. And it still brings a smile to my face. I highly recommend it

Young people might not like it? I love it...its so funny. Guys and Dolls is better in my opinion...but then again...who doesnt like a song about horse racing?

of course it is better. The musical score was far better. And it had Old Blues Eyes singing.

Which would rather hear, Sinatra or Eastwood?

And you don't count. you taste in both music and movies is so broad. I could drive a truck down it

I have to ask, is it anything like it was on the Simpsons? Anybody remember the episode where Homer rents it at the video store expecting it to be a knockdown, Lee Marvin / Clint Eastwood shoot-em-up, and is horrified to hear them start singing!

Come on. The Simpsons are more real life than some real people I know! I just won't build anything like Homer does... (i.e. the doghouse without a door!) Although, thinking about it, I can watch the first thirty seconds of pretty much any Simpsons episode and be able to tell you what the episode is about and then recite a few lines Homer will say in it.

Yup, definitely a loser!
