IT'S 'CLOBBERIN' TIME' IN NOVEMBER FOR MARVEL HEROCLIX CMG

The first expansion for WizKids Games' Marvel HeroClix Collectible Miniatures Game has been scheduled for a November, 2002 release.

The expansion, titled Marvel HeroClix: Clobberin' Time (not Fantastic Forces as was originally speculated), follows the extremely popular Marvel HeroClix: Infinity Challenge game, with special focus on the
adventures and enemies of the Fantastic Four. Marvel HeroClix: Clobberin' Time introduces figures for Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Girl, Thing, Human Torch, Doctor Doom, Sandman, and other heroes and villains from the Marvel Universe. Plus, the expansion will include new versions of Spider-Man, Hulk, Wolverine, and Elektra.

Marvel HeroClix: Clobberin' Time will increase the number and powers of the heroes and villains found in Marvel HeroClix: Infinity Challenge. A Starter Set or Premier Edition of the Marvel HeroClix: Infinity
Challenge game will be needed to play.

The Marvel HeroClix: Clobberin' Time expansion will feature 100 different figures in total. Booster Packs will include four randomly inserted, prepainted, fully assembled miniatures, plus four ID stickers
for a suggested retail price of $6.95.

DC HEROCLIX ON SALE @ SDCC?
According to early unconfirmed reports, WizKids Games are selling starters sets and boosters packs for their DC HeroClix: Hypertime Collectible Miniatures Game from their booth at the San Diego Comic-Con International being held this weekend, despite the game not being officially released until mid-late September.

Single figures have already begun appearing in listings at online auction house eBay, spurring a buying frenzy as fans rush to be the first to have figures of such characters as Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Bane, Weather Wizard, Joker, Darkseid, Booster Gold and more.

It is unknown as to whether this means the release date for DC HeroClix: Hypertime has been brought forward. No official word has come from WizKids Games at this stage.

(some older Heroclix info I forgot to post)

SEATTLE, WA ā€“ August 2, 2002 ā€“ WizKids is pleased to announce a series of licensing deals with independent comic book publishers and creators that will significantly enhance the hottest game of the year, HeroClix. The combined deals will allow WizKids to release Indy HeroClix, a line of collectable miniature figures designed for use with the HeroClix game system. Considering the publishers that have signed on to date, Indy HeroClix will include characters from the universes of such noted comic book publishers as CrossGen Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Chaos Comics, Top Cow, and 2000 AD, as well as individual characters from creators J. Scott Campbell (Danger Girl), David Mack (Kabuki), and Billy Tucci (Shi).

"We are very pleased with the acquisition of these licenses," said Jordan Weisman, WizKids Founder and CEO, speaking from the announcement at Comic Con International, in San Diego, Calif. "The companies and creators that we are dealing with bring with them many wonderful comic book characters that will enhance the HeroClix gaming experience. The combination of these licenses under one game release makes it possible to do all these characters in a way that is both fun as well as financially feasible. By bringing all these diverse characters together under the single product, HeroClix fans win by being able to expand their available forces, and comic book fans win by being exposed to new and different characters that they might not have had a chance to see before. Iā€™m proud that WizKids is able to be part of such a win-win situation."

kewl! There are already a bunch of Avengers and Xmen and I've created the rest of the Defenders. Having the FF should round out the game nicely.

DC should be nice too. Supes vs the Hulk? 'Nuff said.

I've played the Marvel figures for HeroClix and mostly liked it.

I signed a NDA for the DC figures so I'm not sure how much I can say about them, so I won't post anything not already available via the internet.
