OK, the Kraken 4 is really good in a city or open terran, But the lack of speed does cause some issues. So we addressed these issues with this mech.

Now before the clanners around here start to yell about clan honor. Let me explain, The way of war in the btech universe is changing If the clans don't change with them. we are doomed. Now me personnely will hold on the the honor code. But there are alot of clanners that do not. And this mech combo was designed to suit the new way of fighting the inner sphere.

OK, Now we playtesting this guy in the same terran that the Kraken did so well in. And faired pretty well by itself. But when it teamed up with the Kraken. The results where nasty. After the Kraken cuts lose with's weapons. The Magistrate would follow up with it's SSRM 6s, To do what SSRMs do best. hunt for crits. And with 4 of them. It did it's job pretty well.

With it's the speed and heavy lasers. She can keep a heavy mech busy while the Kraken makes it's way to the battle.

Although I am not used to playing in this style. I cannot argue with the results. These two toghter can hold a city or garrison against medium or heavy star. and inflict heavy damage on a assault star. Light stars where blown away after a few rounds.

What is wrong with the honor of this mech? The only problem I can see is the jets, which some clanners may consider to be honorless.

Another personal dislike: Heavy Lasers. To me the extra range and damage is not worth the lowered chance of a hit. But, that is just my bad luck talking.

I was refering to the two on one concept that this mech was desgined for.

And just for the record, There is no dishonor in useing jump jets.

There is distain for jump jets because of the fact that they are most commonly used for jumping behind mechs.

Can someone tell me where in any sourcebook it says shooting at a mech's back violates Honor?

I just looked in THE CLANS: Warriors of Kerensky and it has a very good section of what does and does not violate Clan Honor rules, and shooting at your opponents back isn't listed anywhere.

You are correct chihawk. It's listed anywhere. It's just the thought of firing on a oppenet who cannot fire back, That violates the code.

As for the distain for jump jets for that reason. Bull. I have never heard that agrument. The use of jump jets is for movement does not break honor. If a warrior uses them for that reason. Then it is the warrior that gets labeled. not the jets
