Well, all I've got is a large laser; he's got an AC/20 and a few lasers.

I've decided to use my loginname nicewitch because I want to reinforce my Wiccan belief system.

Your large laser is still in medium range at 10 hexes while his AC20 and medium lasers are out of range.

Actually Sleeping Dragon, it makes no difference to me if in tournament games units are allowed infinite ammo so they'll be on a par with energy weapon equipped units. I was just wondering what you all thought. And friends, I'm a woman, by the way.

Well, sometimes running out of ammo is a blessing, sometimes a curse. Empty ammo bins nicely sink criticals that would otherwise hit something important and having ammo somewhat balances out having greater heat production on energy weapons along with the possibility of explosion. You can ballance things nicely in a design or botch horribly. Compare Summoner A and Wolverine for example. Summoner can hardly get rid of it's SRMs and will probably wish for gauss ammo all the time while the old Wolverine mostly does fine in this category.
