Yes, because having the all the air in the small confined space of the tunne burned up is infinitely preferable to being burned, blasted, banged, or otherwise killed by your over-large verpa.
Seriously, have you never seen the old vid Saving Private Ryan? Do you not know how these weapons work? In your quest for bigger and better, you keep finding better ways to kill us all! _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

OOC: Panzer, just keep things simple. Remember the K.I.S.S rule. Need me to spell it out?

OOC: For tunnel work bring a .22 handgun. Vietnam tunnel rats would occasionally lose consciousness if they used a .45 in the tunnel. The cartridge would consume most of the available oxygen. Likewise grenades, flamethrowers, any rifle rounds. Stunners, lasers and gauss weapons should be fine in the tunnel though.
Good luck you guys!

no mortars please. A single 20th century mortar can bust off all the leaves on all those closely knit trees in a forest. Now if u fired that, the force can actually send us flying all over the place and kill us all.
i dont even take chances by bringing a grenade, if those walls are too thin, the shrapnel can pass through and kill us all.
stick to non-explosives. However, i do have Acid sprayer grenades. This are clearly illegal though but it packs very little explosive power and most of the damage is done by acid. I wager anything down there isnt covered by "human rights" eh no ?

It's ok provided you just throw it at their equipment...
ooc: I don't actually advocate this behavior, but it is indicative of exactly how useless trying to regulate war is. If people really want to kill each other, no amount of law is going to stop them. _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

My 2 LAWs are gone. And oh, an anti- tank/vehicle/mech warheads firepower is focus into a small area. A mortar has a huge blast radius + shrapnel.
so in case of a boom or some one screws up, my money is on the mortar that will get us killed.
OOC: There are soldiers who hid in foxholes and fire an RPG at a tank less than 5 feet away, and emerging without a scratch. Try that with your mortar, I DARE YOU.

Personally I do not care about relative blast radius. All it takes is a miss when you fire the dang things to kill us. LAW's or mortars, even hand grenades. A miss doesn't always mean that it flew past your target. It also means that you didn't take into account that small rock chunk hanging from the ceiling and BOOM!! Everyone near that chunk of rock is down, maybe dead.
Plan for the worst and expect worse than that. _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

Surely the Legendary Sereph Pessismism was under-reported...
You know, we're all assuming the entire battle will be in those tunnels. I still think the mortar and the MG are bad ideas (at least as primary weapons), but we could follow the tunnel down a few meters and run into a giant metal burrowing sphere, a la Ninja Turtles.
People should still carry reasonable personal weapons just in case we do get ambushed in the tunnels, but maybe we should deploy a few heavy weapons.
For the record, if we decide to carry a few MGs I'll feel a lot more comfortable if one of the older gentlemen (Motown, mud...) was behind the trigger.
I still think that everyone carrying a single room-clear grenade would be a good idea. _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

If we're bringing grenades, we need to remember that we're on a rescue mission, not search and destroy. I don't think Dead-Fish wants us to be chucking frags around willy-nilly, in case we happen to chuck one into the hole he's in. We can use frags, thermite, etc. once we've found him, but until then, we need to stick with flash-bangs.
As far as support weapons... grenades are good to start with. If we're gonna have a machine gun, it'd better be something small like a SAW so it can be maneuvered around in the tunnel. I'll second the proposal that we give it to someone that we can trust, like Sir Henry or Vagabond.
I'll call in an order for enough flashbangs for everyone if we decide to carry those.

FYI a flashbang going off between a man's legs can kill him still. Just a gentle reminder.

Sir Henry or Vagabond? I'm insulted. I carried a LMG (Light MG - or SAW to the Americans) for months, and my light weapon in a tank is a heavy 7.62mm GPMG.
Oh wait.... It doesn't really bother me.

Does it kill him or just make him wish he were dead?
Chuck the Grenade right and they won't be able to throw it back (if you've ever played raquetball you know exactly what I'm talking about).
Alexander, you too can carry the SAW. _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."
