BOy Ruger comes back and the thread gets going. But as changing role...... yeah they are not as important. Why???? Because it seems the Houses are pumping out new mechs and units like mad. So, do I spend money on troops whose loyalty is to money or on house troops. Machiville covered this. I think in marginal areas like hte Chaos MArch, Pheriphery, FRR, is their new Eden of employment.
AWAD- does anyone play less than honorable mercs ?!

Ruger, you are refering to the merc Dean who's unit hated the Lyrans...they, Dean and his troops are not Fed-Sun troops, they are mercenaries hired by Duke Hasake to defend his world.
And in the same book, you see the pilot of the Templar, Dean's friend, open fire on him to get Dean and his troops to stop.
So it seems your point is countered by the actions of the Fed-Sun warrior in the Templar.

Did you even bother to read the quote I posted? If so, you should have noticed that SYRTIS FUSILIERS were ALSO in on the executions...THEY TOOK ACTIVE PARTS IN IT...AND THEY ARE DAVION TROOPS...
I never said that SOME Davions didn't fight war honorably...I just said that not ALL Lyrans fight wars dishonorably and that SOME DAVIONS ALSO have attrocities to their record...
Why don't you reread my posts and get back to me on what I said or didn't say?

And did you notice when the Templar pilot dropped Dean's mech, the killings STOPPED?
Now I agree that neither side is innocent of wrong doings and criminal acts, BUT the Lyrans have done far more then the Davions, and if you have noticed or maybe missed it, it's NEVER troops under Victor's command that have committed criminal acts that break the Ares Convention. The last one to act under his command in this manner, the attack on the GDL, was sacked by Victor.
And this time the killing started with the mercs again a good reason for them not to be fighting in the civil war since it becomes to personal.

Ruger, was this in a new book??? You have to remember that it's all on your point of view....Lyrans Point of view is always, that they are always in the right and they are always being hassled....
