BattleMech: Shadow Hawk SHD-2L
Rating: 2.50
Comment: While I've never been impressed with the Shadow Hawk to begin with; this design seems a compromise. While never able to excel at any area of combat the Shadow Hawk was able to perform poor to okay in almost all areas. This design looks for more close in combat as the jumping capacity was maxed for it's movement and the LRM dropped for a larger SRM system. It lessens it's ability to provide long range fire support but becomes a little better of a brawler. Though still outclassed by the other mechs of it's weight class this makes the most of a bad start.

BattleMech: Templar IIC

Comment: Seems real nasty. With the ER PPC, gauss rifle, and ultra AC/10 this mech can punish it's opponents at range and then switch over to the closer weapons as he closes to melee range. With the heat dissappation of this mech it can sustain heavy rates of fire for a long time. Add to that it goes 4/6 which means it can keep up with mechs it's own weight class and many lighter.

BattleMech: Shrike SKE-1D

Comment: As a 45 ton recon unit this pretty good. The full electronics package really sells me on it. The armor combined with it's speed will help keep it operating in hostile territory. The ER laser weapons can allow this to hit you without closing. This allows it to perform it's secondary duty as well.

Comment: I can see this unit acting as a portable missle support unit for a regiment engaged in a mobile battle. Get a lance of these and they will seem to be everywhere behind the front raining missle down with abandon. Need them a quarter klick west to throw missles into a breach...zoom there they go. They can also combine laser fire to take down lighter vehicles.

BattleMech: Shrike SKE-3D

Comment: The speed, armor, and weapon compliment on this unit makes it a very effective fast strike unit. It has the speed to get there, the armor to get out, and the weapons to hurt whatever it's aiming at. While it doesn't have a "take down" weapon it can still take you down.

Comment: WHile I like the design on this one; I feel it should have some sensor array to help it find the scout units. Scouts/recon units of the 3055 era will have some electronics to help hide it from sensors. This unit should have something to counter that so as to find the scouts when they go to ground. The weapon compliment allows it to perform it's mission for extended lengths of time and the streak launcher, since it only fires when it aquires a lock, can help you avoid giving yourself away by firing your missles and having them miss. Every little thing helps in this day and age.

Comment: I'm a speed freak. I like the speed and jumping capabilities on this machine. With it's pulse weapons it would be good at taking down other speed demons. I can see this unit used for strike/ raid missions and scout hunting. With it's massive jumping ability it could do okay in an urban environment or setting up an ambush in a deep ravine. It leads them down only to get to a dead end and jump out. Not many mechs have this kind of jump capacity.

BattleMech: Mördertier MTE-1A
Rating: 3.50
Comment: While having speed comparable to others of it's weight class, this unit incorporates a thicker armor and a rather balanced weapons loadout. I could see altering the structure to endosteel and adding more but that's just icing on the cake. Any changes may upset the cool running of this machine.

BattleMech: Rifleman II RFL-X15

Comment: An effective arena fighter to be sure.
Assuming that this was designed for arena combat this mech fulfills that role well. The limited ammo capacity for the autocannons shouldn't be a factor as long ranges don't last long in the limited space of arena combat plus constantly firing them empties the ammo bins removing the threat of explosions. The armor is very beefy even for a mech this size. The reliance on energy weapons allows for a continuous damage curve over long periods of time. The high heat could pose a crippling problem but as this was a one-of-a-kind custom it is assumed that the pilot knew his machine well and kept weapons fire as cool as circumstances dictated.

BattleMech: Pulsar PUS-1A

Comment: I like this mech.
It has some good suprise potential. Imagine a light lance is taking some flak and they think that it's some rifleman/jagermech mod. They close fast noticing the visual differences, but not realizing their mistake til they come within it's optimum range and it opens up with the lasers and the streaks and starts swinging that hatchet around...instant slaughter.
I know..who would be so foolish as to rush a 95 tonner with lights. Well I know a few who would(me included) but still....
The close in attack capabilities of this mech are a little light for it's size but the TSM and hatchet make up the difference with brutal effectiveness. Not to mention the morale crushing effect of the hatchet attack.
