Overview:
    The Manticore II was made as an upgrade to the original popular tank.
    The Manticore II was not that popular.
    
    Built to be a versatile combat platform, the Manticore II turned out to be more expensive
    than most mechs with a surprisingly basic and somewhat limited role.
    
    This new "IIS" variant is meant to rectify those problems.

Capabilities:
    Though an XL engine is used keeping the Manticore II on the upper end of expensive tanks,
    this variant is still well over 4 times cheaper and more accessible than the original with
    its XXL engine. The retained speed but loss of weight is due to the loss of the amphibous
    capabilities which was the originals claim to versatility. This loss of is offset by some
    simple weapon changes.
    
    Twin MML 7s provide inferior ranged firepower when compared to the NLRM10s but was deemed
    the better choice for 3 important reasons.
    1. They are tied to accurate Artemis FCS, helping close the damage gap.
    2. 3 tons of ammo provides more rounds and options
    3. The capacity to use SRMs sorely shores up the minimum range danger present in the
    previous versions.
    
    All of these reasons provide additional uses at the reduced cost. A more than adequate
    trade-off but that's not all.
    
    Crews appreciate the added safety and protection os a full two tons of Heavy Ferro, bringing
    the variant up to 80% of its potential while a CASE ensures the crews lives.
    
    Lastly, a machine gun was added to the turret, allowing the tank to survive encounters with
    infantry which is a common scenario with support forces (neglected by its predecessor)

Deployment:
    The "IIS" was meant simply to diversify a manufacturers portfolio and ended up being
    considerably more popular than projected.
    
    Somewhat expensive yet affordable. Advanced yet reliable. The IIS is popular on worlds with
    money but lacking access to reliable mechwarriors.
