Overview:
The story of RSE/PA variants of the Firestarter started much like how they started making
Hunchbacks. Initially they made kits for field modding the rear-facing flamer into a forward
configuration. The kits proved popular, and PA took on subcontracts to supplement
Firestarter parts production and support for affiliated companies (Coventry and Defiance)
which justified expanding their mass production facilities on Loxley. PA further expanded
production to make entire machines up to and including their own variants as part of their
license agreement with Coventry. Thus, the FS9-Q was born.

Capabilities:
The FS9-Q offered more armour and better cooling in exchange for a reduced weapons loadout.
RSE's logic was that it was better to have less firepower if that firepower was more
consistently usable rather than more weapons that can't be brought to bear without
unmanageable heat production. More heat sinks and less heat production meant that the -Q
could maintain mobility and thus improve survivability while remaining in the fight for
    longer.

Variants:
Later variants from Promethean Armouries would develop towards reconnaissance functionality.
RSE's Jenner variants offered a striker-style machine and PA didn't want to compete with
themselves. The original FS9-Q did not have the same reputation among pilots as the RSE/PA
Jenner family so when the -Q2 hit the market at more than double the price of the -Q there
wasn't the same kind of outrage as was created by the release of the JNR-7F4. PA's
expectations were based on the -Q2's reception and they were understandably shaken when the
    market balked at the JNR-7N4.
