Several minor/administrative changes with this update. But the couple of enhancements are pretty nice and long overdue! Details of what's included are as follows:
Defects
There are no fixed Defects with this update
Changes
- When closing out a ticket in the Electronic Request System, the versions are sorted in reverse order now in the drop-down.
- A secondary sort on the unit revision was added when viewing the BattleMech unit listing in the administrator console.
- The menu option for 'Submit New Product' was changed to be visible to administrators and users with the Manage Product Submissions right. Also took the time to overhaul and simplify how I handled administrative rights behind the scenes in the process.
- Modified site headers so the sandbox environment of this site should no longer be indexed.
- Modified the way files are handled so that if a particular code release is in Draft mode (as it could be in the Sandbox), the site will always load the files (javascript, css, etc) instead of pulling from cache.
- Modified the System options in the Electronic Request System so it matches current site design. For example, instead of a single option for Technical Readouts, you now have options within Unit Management for BattleMechs, Design Quirks, and Weapons & Equipment.
Enhancements- Added "share" icons to unit designs when viewing their readouts. You can now quickly and easily share your designs on Facebook, tweet about your design on Twitter, or save your design to Pinterest.
- Worked in code to create and maintain sitemaps for Mordel.Net. Because my site used AJAX, search engines couldn't find most of the content. The sitemaps will now update weekly and be available for the search engines to know what the various URLs are that can be accessed (e.g., all the various unit designs on here). This should hopefully help to increase traffic once they are indexed.
